Mission: Chapter 7: Going West
Log entry 18500992
I have shadowed the Steamhawke across the Atlantic Sky. My cover has remained intact from the moment the ship departed from Seaport.
My priority is to maintain my concealment, but I have also been given the chance to observe Captain Bradley and her crew. While there are a few veterans aboard the Steamhawke, Daenelia has also recruited several youngsters with little experience with sky ships or of the lawless life in general.
Whatever their individual agendas, the crew has bonded together by persevering through many trials. Additionally, I believe that a sense of mystery fuels their intrigue and therefore their loyalty. There have been hushed whispers of the "Lost treasure" that they are seeking, and attaining this treasure has become a common goal despite the unclear communication from captain Bradley. Daenelia has not informed even her most valued subordinates of the true nature of the prize they pursue, a decision that is indicative of her attitude.
On the surface, Daenelia Bradley acts in a childish manner unbefitting her authority. I perceive her as stubborn, irrational, and unpredictable, and it is beyond my understanding how she and her crew have survived this long. I can only conclude that this naive character that Daenelia portrays is a tool used to garner loyalty from her crew members, when in reality she is a tactical mastermind.
If and when Daenelia follows the map to its conclusion I will engage the next phase of my mission and claim the lost treasure for myself. For now, I feel myself swept up in the hope and wonder that the crew feels when they look Westward.
