Name Isaak Alkaev
Position Permanent Guest
|Hair Color||Dark Brown|
|Physical Description||Isaak is a tanned man of slightly above-average height and a rather wiry build. His short dark brown hair is wavy, parted on the left side and, if one were to look, they might find a few stray strands of gray. He tends to be clean-shaven or have close stubble, and his face bears the markers of his age in slight creases at the corners of his eyes and around his mouth. Thick brows, a rather aquiline nose, and a squarish jaw are the defining characteristics of his face.
Isaak tends to dress in white or off-white button-down shirts with the sleeves rolled up, black or brown suspenders over them, and serviceable trousers in matching shades as well as a sturdy pair of boots. If formality is required, he'll put a vest in some muted color over his shirt and suspenders. When it's cold, he wears a large black overcoat lined with wool.

Personality & Traits
|General Overview||Isaak is a social sort and enjoys the company of others and despite his accent and the slight language barrier, is quite a talker. Generally he's an optimist and kind to those in need of it, though he doesn't seem to be above bothering the grumpier sorts for his own amusement. He doesn't get angry often, but when he does it's an explosion and takes him a while to calm down or forgive the source of that anger.|
|Strengths & Weaknesses||Isaak enjoys talking, though he's not terribly good at listening. Conversations with him can become one-sided if the other person isn't assertive enough.
He's optimistic, sometimes to the point of being intentionally bothersome to those who are of more gloomy persuasions. He seems to enjoy getting a rise out of them. Despite his insensitivity in some regards, he does understand that there are those who aren't able to handle anything more than kind words and he will act accordingly. His intent isn't to harm in most situations, really, even if he sometimes does. When that happens, though, he's pretty quick to apologize.
Isaak is the type to bottle his anger up until he can't hold it in anymore, and that point usually happens when he's been drinking too much or sleeping too little, which can lead to poor decisions on his part, such as starting fights. He'll also stay angry for quite a while, sometimes even a day or two, and has a hard time forgiving the thing or person that triggered it.
|Hobbies & Interests||Isaak gambles. It's his vice, his reason for moving frequently, and the source of much of his trouble. He has average luck for a gambler, which is to say, he loses more often than he wins, but tends to remember those wins more clearly.
For whatever reason, Isaak loves cats, and has been known to feed strays and befriend them so he can bring them with him when he goes to gambling dens. He claims it's because they're lucky, not that the luck they may offer has helped him in the gambling department.
When he's not wasting his money or pestering cats, Isaak tends to get drunk and sing rather badly or dance, which he isn't too terrible at.
|Personal History||Isaak Alkaev was born in a small town in the Slavic Imperium to a family of farm laborers. One of six children and the third-youngest, it wasn't unusual for him to be overlooked--usually, his absence was only missed if his work in the fields was left undone or he was found absent at the local, tiny school. With the freedom afforded to him, he often got into skirmishes with other boys his age and got into trouble in the nearby town for betting and the occasional attempt at theft. Despite his bad behavior, he was a fairly good student and seemed to have a head for numbers, even if his spelling and handwriting were atrocious.
At the age of sixteen he set off on his own, joining up with a band of sailors to deliver cargo up and down the coast. It was there that he discovered a knack for sailing that his skill with math aided in, and was apprenticed under the helmsman there. It was there that he began to pick up on other languages, though he remains illiterate in all but his native tongue.
When trade was slow at the age of 22 and with a few gambling debts hanging over his head, Isaak took a chance and threw his lot in with smugglers which proved to be a highly profitable move on his part. He worked like this for several years, nearly getting caught a few times, until he moved onto pirating and gained something of a reputation with his gambling debts, forcing him to flee the Slavic Imperium.
Since then he's moved from place to place, taking jobs on ships of various reputes.
|Family||Isaak's now-aging mother and father are cared for by his eldest brother, who owns a farm in the Slavic Imperium which provides work for his two other brothers. His two sisters married into families in the local town, and none of his family whatsoever has anything to do with him anymore.|
