Yeah, it is coming up at the end of the month... when we move house!

So, no celebrations until we're settled in and have proper internet access. I would like to suggest doing something special at the end of november instead. Let's celebrate 2 years and one month instead.

The weekend of 23/24 november okay?

I understand that you are looking for birthday ideas. Hereinafter I'll tell you what I did for my site’s anniversaries (besides what you have done already, ie a sitewide event) and may fit for “Steamhawke”. Choose what might be your style!

-A youtube movie
-Contests with prizes (writing contests, graphics contest – the graphics being used in the youtube movie, advertising contest)
-A “Happy birthday”graphic
-A special newsletter, comprising, besides a birthday speech, a few tops highlighting the achievement of your year:

- Top 5 longest members
- Top 5 high posting characters
- Top 5 most viewed bios
- Top 5 most viewed threads (in your case, this would be posts)

Our members voted for:

• Thread of the year
• Rumour of the year
• NPC of the year
• Love story of the year

We had also funny superlatives (most likely to kiss the wrong maiden, most likely to stab himself with the sword, etc.) .

We had also a trivia contest with questions from our threads and characters, in one year, and a thread reminiscing about the past year’s characters and achievements.

What I know other sites have done for their anniversaries but I didn't:

-A sort of IC AU party where the characters had fun together and sort of celebrated it

-Online meeting of all members at a certain fixed time, and discussing and having fun together

-Watching a movie together (in the theme of the site) – and this can be done in several ways too.

That is a long list to pick and choose from :) Most seem doable, some seem like a lot of work. What was the most popular one?

I think if we combine stuff into a sort of 'year book' thing, everyone can contribute a little something, and we can have that be a recurring thing every year around the anniversary. Plus not all the work will rest on one or two people, and we get a variation of things to add.

Just thinking where we could 'store' the yearbook. I don't relish making a separate page for it or something. But it might be an idea to open a 'year book' forum here on the OOC forum, which opens for one month a year for contributions and is closed for the rest of the year. People could still browse it and reminisce, like an archive forum.

How does that sound?

A sort of yearbook sounds nice. Here in the forum is the right place for it, I agree  :D (because the Wiki is too daunting). And nothing was big work (from what I did; I can't say about the things I told you that others have done).

Any tips for a logical place for the yearbook forum?

When I first joined “Steamhawke”, I thought I would... stay only for one chapter, but this is the third.

From “Steamhawke” I have learned... that Nova doesn’t bite to use, but it bites to set up and manage. Therefore my choice of managing a site remained Invisionfree/ Jcink forums.

The character I would least like to meet in a dark alley is... Ivan or Carol, because both scare me. Not sure which worse.

The character I would fall in love with is… probably Azzo Weiss, because he has an interesting personality and good looks.

I almost cried when... Rosita chased Dae away, not believing she had nothing to do with the Governor’s death.

I laughed loudest when… Harriet and Melisande were discussing between girls.

The craziest thing I've ever seen happen on “Steamhawke” was Harriet’s arrival and remaining there.

If I lived in that world and time, I would... have joined them in the Old West adventure.

In the future, I'd like to see here ... more characters, more writers, more adventures.

When I first joined “Steamhawke”, I thought I would... just try out how Nova 2 works.

From “Steamhawke” I have learned... that I enjoy writing adventure and action.

The character I would least like to meet in a dark alley is... Ivan Yorvlad, because I have no clue what he would do.

The character I would fall in love with is… none, to be honest. They're all a bunch of weird damaged people.

I almost cried when... Ed died.

I laughed loudest when… I read the introduction of Blazingtail and Catscratch.

The craziest thing I've ever seen happen on “Steamhawke” was... finding that a skyship can 'skimjump' and stay in one piece.

If I lived in that world and time, I would... not be very happy; it is a strange and dangerous world.

In the future, I'd like to see here ... the third year anniversary! And another successful kitling that stays around.

When I first joined “Steamhawke”, I thought I would... be overwhelmed by steampunk and pirates and Nova because I had never tried any of them before.

From “Steamhawke” I have learned... that I really, really, really like steampunk and pirates and Nova.

The character I would least like to meet in a dark alley is... Carol, because my chances of survival would be slim.

The character I would fall in love with is… Azzo Weisse, simply because he reminds me of someone I know =D

I almost cried when...  Ed died, out of sadness, and when Rosita banned Daenelia from Seaport, because it wasn't fair.

I laughed loudest when… Carol was mean to Grey. Also when McGinty got stuck to the floor...and stayed there.

The craziest thing I've ever seen happen on “Steamhawke” was... the ship landing on land, and the dead ship floating.

If I lived in that world and time, I would... never leave my house ever.

In the future, I'd like to see here ...  what Jack Stallion's been doing in the meantime, because I totally don't believe that he's dead.
