This Chapter / Re: Chapter 10: Brakes on a Train

Okay, where are we now...

So, the pirates have hostages. They've been in a confrontation with the marshals. They've been after Ana, who is still at large. Are the pirates at risk of being found out any time soon? That can go either way, because either the marshals have bigger things to think about or they get suspiscious about the Peacocks. Or even, one of the Peacock party escapes.

As you can see we can go quite a few ways still.

Yep, that's what I have been spending some time on rather than writing for Steamhawke. Sorry.

I have done some pixel art work of course, so doesnt it make perfect sense to enjoy painting miniatures for board games? We have been playing Descent (again, it took away time from Steamhawke), and there are this incredibly detailed miniature 'pawns' or play pieces. They are a joy to paint. I use this eensyweensie tiny brush, and NO MAGNIFYING GLASS, as that distorts where I think the brush is going to land...

At 40+ my eyesight is not as good as when I was 6, but my close-up eyesight was always freaksishly good at that age. And my eyesight has improved since I started painting! Training, and all that.

Anyway, as soon as Five is up and about, I will ask if he can put some of the pics he took of the minis online, so I can link to them :)

General Announcements / Getting back in the swing of things
« Last post by Daenelia on August 03, 2014, 09:35:24 AM »
Summer is in full swing, we're doing a bit of a cleanup.

We're no longer advertising on regular RPG directories, as we feel this is not delivering new members who stick around or who take time to understand the differences in the way we tell stories.

So, new members will be few, but that just means we will be focusing on characters that are established well enough for us all to write for.

There will be some changes, but those changes will be more about relaxing rather than impossing new strict rules (which goes against our wishes for the site anyway. We never wanted to admin like that...)

Anyway. So now you know.

Stuff got in the way. PLus updates on the game. I can now actually make wild west themed sets...

Anyway, as soon as I have time I will start shooting this, with abbreviated stories, as we dont want to make it too long. I will always focus more on characters still in play at the moment.

I agree, that list seems more relevant to the stories you want to tell. Still.... so many questions!!

Could be a good excersise though. And.. it could help get inspiration or ideas for stories you want to tell.

-_- Ashrieda wouldn't answer the questions to the one I linked in the original post at all. I've actually stumbled upon one that's a little more...I dunno, maybe the quality of the questions are a little more relevant her interests. They're a lot easier to answer using clues from the story, at least.

Now see, I love food, I love eating, and I have this bad habit of eating when I'm bored. I am eating now, in fact.  ;D Unfortunately, I have IBS and a tad bit of gluten sensitivity, so eating has recently become a bit of an adventure.

Although I too wasn't much of a breakfast eater until recently. Even now, I don't like anything too heavy. I love most breakfast food, but yeah, brunch is awesome Dinner (or supper) is probably my favorite though. I like the social aspect of it. Normally lunch would have been, but for the fact that when I'm at work mine occurs at the weirdest hour (4:00 pm!)

I don't know why but this thread made me giggle. I don't think anyone has ever asked me that question :D

I generally don't like eating. It makes me feel a bit bad (physically) and I don't enjoy eating anything I wouldn't eat even if I weren't hungry at all. I'm not picky at all though, I think there is one food that I don't touch and that's canned peasoup....

Anyway, I do like good food, a lot. Like you, I feel that the breakfast is always too early. I don't like eating anything in the morning.

I used to eat every day at 13.00 but my schedules have changed and nowadays I eat dinner at 15.00 or so. I don't eat lunch obviously as it's not the done thing in Finland. I guess you could call the school lunch...lunch, though, since it's usually at 11 o'clock.

My favourite is the "Tea". I usually make myself a nice bread with feta cheese or smoked cheese on it but if I'm hungry I'll make soup or chicken. And drink tea or mate a bit afterwards :D

As it is lunch time and I am sitting at my desk to eat my breadrolls with cheese, I wonder what lunch for you is like...

I really like lunch. I like how it can be a hot or a cold meal, it 'breaks the day in half' and it is a great meal to splash out on and make it special. Cheese rolls notwithstanding.

Breakfast is my least favourite meal. It's too early to eat, I'd rather spend it sleeping. But if I can make it brunch, I am happy.

Actually, I also find dinner boring, the evening meal. You have to come up with something to eat, it involves cooking at the end of the day which inevitably leads to cleaning pans.

Then there is the naming of the meal! 'Tea' up north in the UK is the evening meal, and not, as some assume, the 'high tea' variant with cakes and tiny sandwiches. They also call lunch dinner, which can lead to some confusion...

And do you have your warm meal of the day around noon or in the evening?

All good questions!
