In his moments of clarity, maybe McGinty regrets some of the things he's done, but most of the time he is too far gone to do much thinking at all.

Colton on the other hand understand right and wrong, but he has felt a betrayal so powerful that he has snapped and doesn't really care about people any more.  He desperately wants to take his revenge on Daenelia, but he is also not strong enough to kill her yet, and somehow this equates to hanging around her and making sure nobody else kills her first.  I'm having fun trying to figure him out.

The board game we've spent the most time playing over the last few weeks is Lord of the Rings.  We've been playing it with 3 players and it's really starting to frustrate me, but for some reason I keep ending up playing it again.

Really looking forward to getting into Descent...

Hey Steve,

Roleplaying by mail?  Wow, I thought I was ancient for starting with Yahoo Groups...

Yes we've been going for 2 years and there's unlimited steampunk stories yet to be told.  The group of writers is quite small, so sometimes it goes very slowly, but it has kept going despite this.  Daenelia and I are passionate about our project here, and are happy that we have attracted writers to join in with us.

Following your tangent, I prefer "collaborative writing project" and we're gonna stick something like that on the front page some time.

There have been some chapters that were genuinely story-packed and deserved that extra time.  You never know when a chapter starts what kind of chapter it's going to be, and I like that.  But I've always had a "feel" for when the chapter has gone on long enough.

I would prefer it that if people are unhappy with the Steamhawke style and leave, rather than stay and just continue to be unhappy.

The story will be wrapped up and moved onto the train one way or another.   Each chapter feels a bit different and this one can definitely be a fresh start where we outline clearly what the communication options are.

Mar, i'm very glad you're being open and honest with us.  But we have to be open and honest as well.  Steamhawke is not the site you want it to be, and it won't cater to the style that you want.  If you disagree with the mission statement then this is not the site for you.

Poop Deck / Re: Wiki subject: secret and/or shady organisations
« on: February 05, 2014, 09:49:46 PM »
What is required for a secret organization to be eligible for this list?

Something that's had a direct or indirect impact on the crew.  We'll scour the chapters to put more detail into that list.  We'd much prefer that existing story elements are expanded on or linked together rather than something completely new being created and then dropped.

That's pretty much correct, the concept of the slave trade doesn't really exist in Terra.
